We acted as Building Owner Surveyor for a side return extension to a Victorian terrace in Peckham. The works involved building up to and along the boundary with the neighbouring property. Notices were served promptly and the adjoining owner dissented, appointing their own surveyor. We agreed the party wall award with the adjoining owner's surveyor within four weeks. The schedule of condition documented the condition of the neighbouring boundary wall, which had existing cracks — protecting our client from any subsequent damage claim.

Loft Conversion — Greenwich

We were instructed as Agreed Surveyor for a loft conversion in Greenwich, acting for both the building owner and the adjoining owner. The works involved raising the party wall on both sides of a mid-terrace property. A single agreed surveyor appointment kept costs down for both parties and the award was agreed within three weeks of instruction.

Rear Extension and Basement — Lambeth

We acted for a developer in Lambeth carrying out a combined rear extension and basement conversion. Three neighbouring properties were affected. FAQs – Party Wall Surveyor South London

Do I need a Party Wall Agreement for my South London project?

Yes. If your work affects a shared wall or boundary, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 applies. We can confirm if notice is required after reviewing your plans.

What if my neighbour doesn’t reply to a notice?

If there’s no reply within 14 days, a dispute is deemed. Under section 10(4)(b) of the Act, we can appoint a surveyor for them so the process continues legally.

How long does the Party Wall process take?
